RSGTI’s Vision for a Better World

RSGTI Health, Safety, Environment, and Social Policy

The standard operating procedure of Red Sea Gateway Terminal International defines Health, Safety, Environment, and Social (E&S) performance as core elements of determining the success of RSGTI’s business operations and employee considerations.

RSGTI has implemented an overall company policy of preventing any harm to people or damage to the environment through any company actions or activities.

The Main Goals of This Philosophy and Workplace Regimen Can be Summarized as

Maintaining the highest levels of security for all RSGTI facilities and IT systems

Providing safeguards and support to every community in which RSGTI does business

Cause no harm to the environment!

Operate on a business model of long-term environmental sustainability

Elimination of safety risks for all personnel

E&S performance is an integral component of RSGTI’s day-to-day business processes and activities, including the adoption and enforcement of standards of pollution prevention and energy efficiency, and the reduction of greenhouse gases that exceed standard minimum requirements.

Our Philosophy

Strict adherence to the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a fundamental pillar of Red Sea Gateway Terminal International (RSGTI) and its affiliates’ business and operations philosophy.

These include commitment to workplace safety, environmental sustainability, equal opportunity for training and advancement, and good corporate citizenship in every location around the globe in which we do business.

Our Environmental Focus

Our Priorities

The RSGTI company philosophy and business practices are based upon three priorities, the Health and Safety of all company employees, in the workplace, as well as at home; ongoing Education and Personal Development of RSGTI’s global staff; and Environmental Sustainability of our port and terminal operations.

Artificial Reef Initiative

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

In collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT), has invested approximately 3,000,000 SAR (USD $800,000) over the past three years in developing, and planting, and monitoring over 1,500 segments of artificial coral reef on the floor of the Red sea, north of the Port of Jeddah, north of Jeddah Port. Designed to simulate the existing coral reefs found in the Red Sea (home to the world’s longest reef eco-system), the pre-cast concrete structures were placed at selected locations in a process which was completed in June of 2018. Aquatic life, including key local fish populations and their supporting eco-systems dependent upon the coral reef environment, is a key element of the Saudi Governments Vision 2030 program.

Education & Personal Development

Sensitivity to environmentally sustainable port operations and infrastructure are at the forefront of RSGTI’s investment planning, including hybrid diesel/battery-powered terminal equipment, and electrification of operations to reduce particulate and Greenhouse Gas production at our terminals. Our commitment to local environments includes a major project we have undertaken to restore the rare Red Sea Coral Reefs located near Jeddah Port. The reefs provide essential habitat for marine life, which in turn support local fishing communities. We are very proud of our success in restoring the reefs in our area.

Environmental Sustainability

RSGTI currently employs over 2,500 worldwide, and we are expanding operations and locations at a rapid pace. As we grow, we are looking to expand our workforce by both new hires, and by promoting from within our existing team. RSGTI is committed to helping each of our team members realize their full potential professionally. We will provide the training and opportunities to enable each employee to succeed. Core principles of RSGTl’s Human Resources philosophy include comprehensive employee training; providing support for working mothers and their children;
and employee family medical insurance programs. Other HR programs provide opportunities for employer ecreational activities, and incentives for ongoing training and advancement, in addition to other employee benefits. We believe that investing in people is as essential as any infrastructure investment.

Health & Safety

RSGTI has identified three components to our Health and Safety goals

1) Elimination of workplace risk.
2) Full involvement of all employees in observing all safety rules and policies.
3) Embracement of a company-wide Safety Culture.

Specific procedures, education and training programs have been designed to assure complete compliance among RSGTl’s employees, customers, third-party vendors, and stakeholders. With steadily increasing levels of port activities in bulk, general cargo and container handling at RSGTI facilities, the importance of personal safety and a risk-free work environment only increases. RSGTI continues to meet the challenges of expanding port and terminal operations by implementing automation, reinforcing safety culture at every level of our company, and ensuring that any safety-related incident is investigated and addressed immediately to eliminate risk.
